Adam Merrifield

a picture of me
I am a web designer, theme designer, professional photographer and internet personality. I make many pretty things and I write a lot of content for the internet.

I am one of those guys that, because of the industry I am in, need to be connected at all times. At any given moment you'll find me posting on a forum, updating with twitter, Digging things worthy of attention, uploading pictures, or tagging cool sites.

here i am

seyDoggy Systems:
This is home base, the corporate headquarters, the hub, if you will, seyDoggy.com.

seyDesign news:
these are the RapidWeaver related posts that originally appear in the seyDesign.com blog

Uploads from seyDoggy:
these are the pictures that I upload to flickr

Merrifield Photography:
as a professional photographer I my camera ready at Merrifield-Photography.com.

delicious.com/seydoggy:
these are the websites I want to share or revisit later on. I just tag them on delicious.com.

what i am

I am the owner and operator of seyDoggy Systems, a small theme, code and design outfit based in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. We primarily develop web based technologies but have begun to dabble in the desktop realm.

what i do

I code like a fool. I design like a fool. I am happiest when I can split my time between the two (though I tire of Photoshop faster then I do TextMate or Terminal), and somehow I have managed to etch out a living doing so.

Ad Free

What??? No ads? No Google Adsense? No affiliates? No paid product reviews? That’s right. I have been in this game for a long time and I have been down that affiliate road before and I can honestly say it serves no one better than the company for whom you are advertising. $30 dollars a year from Adsense just makes me $0.003/hour whore and I personally think I am worth more than that.

In my experience, making friends is more important than making money, and in the end, making friends makes you more money anyhow. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not like I am doing this blog for completely altruistic reasons. I do want to share my knowledge and speed tricks with the greater computing community, but I do also want to generate more exposure for myself and my friends. But I don’t want to cheapen the experience by inundating you with blinking banners and devious, seemingly innocuous text links.

So what you see is what you get. Just me and the things I do, with the tools I use, doing the things I like… fast. What you won’t see and what you won’t get are paid reviews, cut and paste promo regurgitation, links to sites that have some unique id embedded in them, and all that other crap that usually clouds over otherwise great content.

Furthermore (did I actually say that?), my articles, tutorials, reviews, news and views will be my own, and as often as permissible, I will refrain from rehashing the words of other writers about the same item of interest. I hate hopping from review to review, article to article, news post to news post where everyone has just copied what the last guy said like some digital telephone game.

Nuff said.
