Some old film, originally uploaded by seyDoggy.
I still have thousands of images on disk that were scanned from film back in the day. I am slowly loading it all into my computer to get it properly archived and organized. I found this one today, shot in 2004 on some Fuji NPS 160 (I can tell by the color and grain) with one of my Minolta Maxxum 7’s. That’s about all I can remember as far as details are concerned.
I have to be honest, I do miss the simplicity of film. There was good film and bad film, film with contrast, film with saturation, film for warm skin tones and film for certain light types, there was film fine grain and film that was coarse… There was a film for everything. I find now that I spend way too much time color managing images when the film would have done that for me in the past.
All of the possibilities now are great, but sometimes I just want to shoot something and know how it will look on that stock.
